The 2025 Subaru WRX is powered by a turbocharged 271-horsepower 4-cylinder engine matched with a 6-speed manual transmission with all-wheel drive. A CVT automatic transmission with paddle shifters is optional if you must. Unique in its class, the WRX’s flat engine design comes with the benefits of a lower center of gravity for better handling, smooth operation, and quick throttle response. It makes for a driving experience that’s pleasurable at any speed, whether it’s the daily commute or a curvy back road.
The small footprint and well-tuned suspension system further contribute to the pleasurable drive this Subaru delivers. Comfort improves greatly with the electronic adaptive dampers in the tS and GT models. We had fun taking tight corners fast when testing the WRX; it’s the kind of car that feels like it wants the driver to push it to its limit. The braking also feels satisfactory, partially thanks to this compact&#8217;s modest curb weight.
As for the transmissions, some rivals (Honda Civic Si, Volkswagen Jetta GLI) have more engaging and precise manual transmissions than the WRX. But if you’re a connoisseur of fine transmissions, you’re probably getting the Honda, anyway. If you’re not picky and just want a fast, fun car with an old-fashioned stick shift, you’ll be perfectly satisfied with the WRX.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
Good fuel economy is supposed to be one of the advantages of a sport compact compared to a perfromance car with a bigger engine. However, the Subaru WRX only manages 22 mpg combined with the manual transmission and 21 mpg with the automatic. Also, premium fuel is recommended, yielding surprisingly high fuel costs for a compact sedan with a 4-cylinder engine, sporty as it may be. The Civic Si requests premium gas, too, but it gets 31 combined mpg.

Surprisingly Subtle Exterior

For better or worse, the current iteration of the Subaru WRX doesn’t have the ostentatious, boy-racer aesthetic of earlier generations. It does have a gaping hood scoop, quad exhaust tips, and sporty wheel designs, but gone is the charmingly ridiculous rear wing of the old STI models. If you want to drive a sporty compact sedan and look like a grown-up, this relative subtlety is a good thing.

Stick shift 
Yes, the automatic is quicker, but we never fell out of love with the manual transmission, especially in a sport compact like this. We love to see it standard in the WRX.
All-wheel drive 
The Subaru WRX was a performance car with all-wheel drive long before it was trendy. Harkening to its roots as a rally car, the WRX’s all-wheel-drive system with active torque vectoring gives it better grip on dry pavement and the practical benefit of all-season traction.
tS trim 
The new tS (tuned by STI) trim of the WRX brings upgrades like Brembo brakes, a high-tech, sport-tuned suspension system, and Recaro seats, unlocking the Subaru’s potential as a track-ready performance car.
Electronic adaptive dampers 
This sophisticated suspension system, standard on the tS and GT trims, improves the WRX&#8217;s comfort and smoothness while also improving its agility. It can be adjusted exactly to your liking with Normal, Comfort, Sport, and Individual modes.

If you want the full sports car treatment, the WRX tS delivers. It even includes uber-supportive Recaro front seats in the upper trims. However, at its core, the WRX is a sedan, seating up to five. Easy to live with, the instrumentation and controls are sensibly placed. The seats are comfortable, and there is plenty of elbow room. Its rear seats provide 36.5 inches of legroom. This falls neatly between the VW Golf GTI and the Hyundai Elantra N.
We put the WRX through its paces as a family car — with car seats and everything — and found it to be just as practical as any other compact sedan. The tidy 12.5 cubic feet of cargo space isn’t as much as any of our named rivals, but we found it practical enough for typical everyday errands.

Every 2025 Subaru WRX is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 271 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. A CVT automatic is mandatory on the comfort-oriented GT trim and optional on all other trims.
<h3>3-Year/36,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
Subaru protects the WRX with a bumper-to-bumper limited warranty for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. A 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty is also standard. This is about typical for new cars from mainstream manufacturers.
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NHTSA</a>) awarded the Subaru WRX its highest 5-star overall safety rating. The independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (<a href="https://www.iihs.org/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IIHS</a>) has awarded the Subaru WRX a Top Safety Pick award. Subaru includes EyeSight Driver Assist Technology as standard regardless of transmission. This bundle of advanced safety tech includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane centering.

What's new for

The TR trim introduced to the WRX lineup last year is already gone and replaced by the sportier and pricier <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/2025-subaru-wrx-ts-pairs-stick-with-sporty-suspension/">tS</a> [sic] trim. The tS stands for “Tuned by STI,” Subaru’s performance division. Compared to last year’s TR performance trim, the tS gets even better Brembo brakes, blue interior accents, a digital gauge cluster, and electronically controlled dampers with four modes: Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Individual. This high-tech suspension system used to be exclusive to the GT trim, which comes exclusively with an automatic transmission. The introduction of the tS trim means you can now get a WRX with the really good suspension and a stick shift.
Also, the WRX&#8217;s eponymous base trim <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/2025-subaru-wrx-drops-base-model-now-starts-at-36920/">has been discontinued</a>, driving up the starting price. The new base trim is the WRX Premium.

The 2025 Maserati GranTurismo and all-electric GranTurismo Folgore coupes are luxurious grand tourers with lashings of style.

In Modena trim, the Maserati GranTurismo produces a perfectly energetic 483 hp from its turbocharged 6-cylinder engine. It will sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. That’s fast in anyone’s book. And the 542-hp Trofeo version shaves nearly half a second from that time. Then again, a BMW M8 Competition Coupe has 617 hp and does the dash in three seconds flat, while the Porsche 911 Turbo packs 576 hp and can claim a time of 2.7 seconds.
A standard adaptive suspension allows the GranTurismo to transform from a comfortable cruiser to a precise corner carver. All-wheel drive (also standard) enhances traction.
Maserati says the 751-hp (or 818-hp, in boost mode) GranTurismo Folgore can hit 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. Lightning, indeed.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
If this matters, the Modena and Trofeo models are more frugal with premium gasoline than the BMW M8 Competition Coupe and Porsche 911 Turbo. The Maserati cars achieve 21 mpg in combined city/highway driving, while their German rivals both return 17 mpg combined.
<h3>Range and Charging</h3>
The GranTurismo Folgore is capable of traveling 233 miles between charges. A few luxury electric vehicles can exceed 300 miles, but they’re sedans. Maserati says the battery can go from 20% capacity to 80% in 18 minutes using a DC fast charger. If the starting-off point had been 10%, that would have put the Folgore level with most other top-notch EVs. Looking at it another way, the company says the car can take on 48 miles of range in five minutes.

Tasteful Exterior

The GranTurismo definitely follows the classic coupe styling formula. We’re not criticizing, though. If we walked into our garage every morning and saw this ready to roll, we’d compliment ourselves on our good taste in cars.
The only real visual difference between the gasoline and electric models is the Folgore badge on each front fender, just above that hallmark trio of air vents.

Head-up display 
Admittedly, plenty of cars offer the option of a head-up display. Yet that doesn’t stop us from liking them and finding them extremely useful because we don’t have to look away from the road ahead. This feature is part of a Tech Assistance package that also includes a digital rearview mirror &#8212; a good thing to have in a coupe.
Sonus Faber audio 
A 19-speaker system from Italian maker Sonus Faber is an option in every GranTurismo variant.
Comfort package 
This optional bundle brings ventilated front seats and hands-free tailgate operation. Maserati isn’t exactly bending over backwards to provide value for money, but we’d probably choose this if we were buying a new GranTurismo.
Maserati aura 
Most people think of Ferrari and Lamborghini when conversation turns to exotic Italian cars. They’re wonderful, of course, but we also like the left-field/less-obvious aspect of Maserati. That trident badge in the grille has its own heritage, and we love the distinctly Italian styling overall.
Powertrain variety 
We always like to see variety under the hood, even in a super-premium coupe like the GranTurismo. We appreciate that this Maserati is available with either gasoline or electric power, and the two distinct tunings of the turbo V6 add even more choice.

Fine Interior

Maserati does this luxury sports car thing really well. The cabin steers a finely judged line between modernity and tradition. There are two screens in the center console, plus a digital driver information display, and the entire dash keeps clutter to a contemporary minimum. Yet there’s diamond-stitched leather upholstery as standard &#8212; as it should be for this price. We love the engine start button set into the steering wheel &#8212; it looks exciting, like a race car’s. Oh, and the all-electric Folgore comes with sustainable simulated leather.
In a typical coupe, the front seats are fine, and the back seats are usually awful. That’s not the case with the GranTurismo. Through ingenious packaging, there’s enough space for four adults &#8212; plus some of their luggage. The trunk area is 10.9 cubic feet, about the same as the Genesis G70 luxury compact sedan. Or 9.5 cubic feet in the Folgore &#8212; that battery has to go somewhere.

In its second year of existence, this current generation of the GranTurismo luxury coupe continues to offer two gasoline versions and an all-electric variant &#8212; the Folgore, which gets its name from the Italian word for lightning. For those buyers seeking automotive beauty, while steering clear of the more obvious mainstream choices, the GranTurismo is an intriguing choice. <a href="http://www.kbb.com/maserati/">Maserati</a> has created a powerful grand tourer that’s completely modern yet still evocative of gorgeous Italian car designs from the past.

We expect the 2025 Maserati GranTurismo to start at around $160,000. The all-electric 2025 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore has a starting sticker price of $193,995.

The GranTurismo faces some highly desirable and capable competition, like the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/bmw/m8/">BMW M8</a>, <a href="https://www.kbb.com/porsche/911/">Porsche 911</a>, <a href="https://www.kbb.com/lexus/lc/">Lexus LC</a>, and the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/mercedes-benz/mercedes-amg-gt/">Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe</a> &#8212; all beginning below this Maserati. If anyone feels like spending about twice as much as a GranTurismo Modena, there’s the Bentley Continental GT.
Electric luxury coupes aren’t so numerous. Most luxury EVs are sedans, yet we think someone considering a GranTurismo Folgore might also like to check out the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/audi/rs-e-tron-gt/">Audi RS e-tron GT Performance</a>. Maybe a high-level version of the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/porsche/taycan/">Porsche Taycan</a>. Or perhaps a Rolls-Royce Spectre coupe might be tempting, with a range of 277 miles and a price around the half-million mark.

Gasoline-powered versions of the 2025 GranTurismo coupe employ a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. The Modena develops 483 horsepower and 361 lb-ft of torque, while the Trofeo is boosted to 542 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. In both instances, an 8-speed automatic transmission sends energy to an all-wheel drive system.
The GranTurismo Folgore has three electric motors making a massive 751 horsepower and 995 lb-ft of torque in total, with 818 hp available in boost mode. All-wheel drive is standard here as well.
<h3>4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
Maserati’s new vehicle and powertrain warranties both last four years or 50,000 miles, whichever happens first. This is typical among European luxury car makers. The Folgore’s battery pack is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
At the time of compiling this review, the GranTurismo had not been crash-tested by any agencies in the United States or Europe. That’s common with expensive vehicles that only sell in relatively small numbers. Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Sadly, blind-spot monitoring is part of an optional package of driver assistance features.

We’re not anticipating any significant changes to the GranTurismo this year.

The full-size, 3-row Ford Expedition MAX is the blue oval’s biggest, most family-friendly SUV, and it’s all-new for 2025.

Although the Ford Expedition MAX has entered a new generation, it carried over the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that powered the previous generation. However, the new standard tuning makes 400 horsepower, and it’s upgradeable to 440 hp. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends output to the rear or all four wheels.
We expect the new Expedition MAX to drive not unlike the outgoing generation. If we’re right, the 2025 Ford Expedition MAX will provide plentiful power, even with a full load of passengers and a boat in tow, but with the ponderous handling that comes with the territory in this class. At the end of the day, the Expedition MAX is a big truck, and it drives like one, although the independent rear suspension from the previous generation helped with smoothness and comfort for the backseat passengers.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
We expect the new Expedition MAX&#8217;s fuel economy to be similar to the old one since the same EcoBoost engine is under the hood. The 2024 model was rated at 17 city/23 highway/19 combined mpg with rear-wheel drive. Subtract one from each of those numbers for the 4-wheel drive models.
These fuel economy ratings are about average for this class, but the diesel versions of the Chevy Suburban and GMC Yukon XL are more efficient. The Jeep Wagoneer L, also powered by a turbo 6-cylinder, is about as efficient as the Expedition MAX. The fact that this Ford runs on regular-grade gas helps keep the fuel costs manageable, the optional 6.2-liter V8 in its GM rivals requires premium.

Imposing Exterior

The exterior design of the Ford Expedition MAX strikes a nice balance of modern and traditional. It’s satisfyingly boxy, but a handsome light signature and stylish wheels make it look modern. The look changes quite a bit throughout the lineup; the Active is humble yet stylish, the Platinum looks fancy, and the King Ranch is like a cowboy wearing his Sunday best.
The Ford Split Gate is a new, unique exterior feature of the Ford Expedition MAX. This class-exclusive split liftgate has a clamshell design, with the bottom part folding down like a truck’s tailgate. That means you can open the hatch from the driver’s seat and not worry about a bottle of wine rolling out and smashing on the garage floor. A Cargo Tailgate Manager option integrates a serving table and a backrest for the split gate, making the Expedition MAX the ultimate tailgating SUV.

Towing muscle 
The Ford Expedition MAX is among the best in its class when it comes to towing. With a max tow rating of up to 9,600 pounds, it’s ready and willing to pull boats, campers, and a wide range of other toys.
BlueCruise 
BlueCruise is Ford’s hands-free highway driving system, and it’s one of our favorites. It allows for safe and relaxed hands-off-the-wheel, eyes-on-the-road driving on over 130,000 miles of North American highways. It’s standard on the King Ranch and optional on all other trims.
Ford Digital Experience 
The Ford Digital Experience consists of a 24-inch panoramic display working in concert with a 13.2-inch central infotainment display. Wireless smartphone connectivity, crisp graphics, and a user-friendly interface make for a pleasant experience.
360-degree zone lighting 
A nice touch of the Ford Expedition MAX is optional zone lighting all around the exterior of the SUV. It can project light in any direction, which is helpful for setting up a campsite or just lighting the way in a dark parking lot.
Luxury trims 
The Western-inspired King Ranch trim and the fancy Platinum Ultimate package turn the Expedition MAX into a luxury SUV with features like BlueCruise, massaging leather seats, a High-Output engine, and a B&amp;O premium audio system with up to 22 speakers.

Vast Interior

Historically, some full-size SUVs have had interior dimensions that don’t feel so full-size, especially in the third row. However, clever packaging in the Ford Expedition MAX yields a truly massive interior with adult-friendly seating in all three rows. In fact, it has more third-row legroom than the GMC Yukon XL or the Jeep Wagoneer L. There’s also plenty of cargo space to boot, and the second- and third-row seats all fold flat creating an enormous cargo hold with a flat floor.
Interior materials get nicer as you work your way into pricier trims. All but the base Active trim have leather seats, and the King Ranch model boasts what Ford calls Mesa Del Rio leather with Kingsville stitching. A fully loaded Expedition MAX feels like a luxury SUV inside, but it’s also priced like one.
The new Expedition MAX has a unique screen arrangement. A large 24-inch display is perched on the dash in front of the driver, serving as a digital gauge cluster and an infotainment readout. But that’s not meant to be tapped with your fingers; a more traditional 13.2-inch infotainment display is on the center stack for controlling your maps, music, and other functions. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard.

The Ford Expedition MAX has consistently been one of our favorite entries in a competitive class of <a href="https://www.kbb.com/suv/best-full-size-suvs/">full-size SUVs</a>. Its vast interior, impressive towing muscle, luxurious options, and surprisingly reasonable fuel costs make it good at just about everything that’s important to families who need one rig that can do it all. The Expedition MAX enters a new generation for 2025 with updated styling inside and out, a clever split liftgate, and the latest in safety and infotainment technology. Load up the whole crew; everyone’s going to enjoy the ride.

Every 2025 Ford Expedition MAX is powered by a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The standard tuning produces 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, but a High-Output version is available, making 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. Like all of its rivals, rear-wheel drive is standard, and 4-wheel drive is optional.

Ford’s new vehicle warranty lasts three years or 36,000 miles, whichever happens first. Powertrains are covered for five years or 60,000 miles. These are typical terms among mainstream manufacturers.

The new generation of the Ford Expedition MAX has not yet been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (<a href="https://www.iihs.org/ratings">IIHS</a>) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings">NHTSA</a>). Its standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera, and parking sensors.

The Ford Expedition MAX is <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/2025-ford-expedition-gets-new-screen-tech-tremor-model/">fully redesigned</a> for 2025. In addition to the new exterior and interior designs, a few of the highlights of the new generation are a new infotainment system, wider availability of the BlueCruise hands-free driving system (now either optional or standard on every trim), and the class-exclusive Ford Split Gate. Notably, the standard-wheelbase Expedition has a new off-road-ready Tremor trim, but it’s not available with the extended Expedition MAX variant.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQB is a stylish, capable luxury electric SUV with available 3-row seating and lots of modern tech.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQB’s powertrain has three versions. The EQB 250+ is the entry point, with 188 horsepower and front-wheel drive (FWD). This SUV is an EV, so despite the seemingly small horsepower figure, it feels peppy thanks to 284 lb-ft of torque. The EQB 250+ sprints from zero to 60 mph in an estimated 8.5 seconds, but whatever the number, it hasn’t felt slow in our testing.
At the midpoint of the EQB lineup, you’ll find the EQB 300 4Matic. As you may surmise, the 4Matic in the name means it comes with all-wheel drive (AWD). The extra pair of drive wheels also includes another motor, for a total of two. According to Mercedes, this dual-motor EQB variant puts out 225 hp and can accelerate from a stop to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds. Here, the extra power yields a sense of sportiness, and the all-wheel drive is welcome in bad weather.
The most powerful EQB is the 288-hp EQB 350 4Matic, which also has standard all-wheel drive and dual motors. Its 384 lb-ft torque output enables the EQB to accelerate to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds.
Our time behind the wheel has shown that all three versions demonstrate Mercedes-Benz’s characteristic unflappable driving feel, just like their other “normal” non-electric luxury SUVs, with the bonus of instant-on electric torque when required.

Traditional SUV Shape

Although it shares some of its structure with the gasoline-powered GLB, the EQB is visually quite different, thanks partly to last year’s aesthetic changes. It retains the upright, boxy proportions of the GLB, but its details align it more with Mercedes’ more expensive electric SUVs, the EQE and EQS SUVs.

Wireless charging and integration 
Cutting the cords when it comes to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or just charging your phone takes the hassle out of the experience, making it as easy as getting in, putting your phone on the charging pad, and heading out.
Available 3-row seating 
It’s unusual but welcome to find 3-row seating for up to seven occupants offered in an SUV of the EQB’s size, especially in the luxury segment.
DC fast charging 
All versions of the EQB use the same battery pack and, therefore, can charge from 10% capacity to 80% in just 35 minutes — perfect for road trips.
Driver Assistance Package 
While the EQB comes with a substantial list of standard safety equipment, the adaptive cruise control, steering assist, lane-keeping assist, lane-change assist, and other advanced functions included with this package are well worth the $1,700 package price.
Burmester audio system 
Included with the Exclusive and Pinnacle trims, this 12-speaker, 9-channel, 590-watt system uses Dolby Atmos and EQ Sound Experience for even more impressive sound.
MBUX technology 
The MBUX infotainment system, with its “Hey, Mercedes” voice controls and large, high-res screen is already great, and now the EQB also gets standard MBUX Augmented Reality, overlaying driving directions directly onto the world around you.

Elegant Furnishings

The Mercedes-Benz EQB’s cabin is an elegant, modern environment built of high-end materials and packed with the latest technology. For 2025, the tech factor improves even further with standard MBUX Augmented Reality, which overlays navigation information onto a video view of the world outside, making it easier than ever to find your way in unfamiliar locations.
Also included with all EQB models is the latest-generation MBUX infotainment system, with modern smartphone integration and, as of 2025, wireless device charging.
As expected, the front row is spacious and comfortable, but the second row is fairly roomy, too, with 38.1 inches of legroom. The Audi Q4 e-tron, for example, has 37.2 inches of rear-seat legroom, as does the Genesis GV70. The Tesla Model Y’s second row is roomier at 41.2 inches. With the optional third row, however, the EQB has 29.1 inches of legroom to the Model Y’s 26.5 inches.
As for cargo space, the EQB has 25.9 cubic feet behind the second row or 61.8 cubic feet behind the first row. That’s a bit less than typical for the segment with the second-row seats up but more than average with them folded.

Despite being the smallest and most affordable Mercedes-Benz EV, the EQB impresses at every turn. Three powertrain options, available all-wheel drive, and a surprising amount of cargo space make the EQB even more attractive. Slide into the cabin,
and you’re met with premium design and materials and plenty of space. Our only beef with the EQB is that it could have more range.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and evaluating this generation of <a href="https://www.kbb.com/electric-car/best-luxury-electric-suvs/">luxury electric SUVs</a>, including the Mercedes-EQ EQB.

Pricing in the smaller luxury electric SUV realm hasn’t found its sweet spot yet, varying widely from one brand to the next. The <a href="https://www.kbb.com/tesla/model-y/2025/">2025 Tesla Model Y</a>, for example, starts around $47,000, while the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/audi/q4-e-tron/">2025 Audi Q4 e-tron</a> starts around $51,000, and the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/genesis/electrified-gv70/">Genesis GV70</a> starts around $68,000. That puts the Mercedes-EQ EQB right in the middle of the group, starting in the mid-$50,000s.

Power, Range, and Charging

Three versions of the EQB’s electric drivetrain are available. The EQB 250+ SUV has a single motor driving the front wheels. A 70.5-kWh battery pack provides up to 251 miles of range. With DC fast charging, the EQB can charge from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes at rates up to 100 kW.
The EQB 300 4Matic SUV uses the same battery pack and has the same charging rates, but it comes with dual motors and 4Matic all-wheel drive, along with a significant power upgrade. The addition of all-wheel drive reduces the EQB 300’s range to 205 miles.
At the top of the EQB range sits the EQB 350 4Matic, also with standard all-wheel drive but with more horsepower from its dual-motor setup. Despite the extra power, the EQB 350 gets 207 miles of range from the same battery pack used by the other models.
Comparing the EQB to other small luxury electric SUVs, its most notable shortcoming is range. The Tesla Model Y, for instance, gets up to 337 miles of range, and the Audi Q4 e-tron can go up to 288 miles on a charge. The Genesis GV70’s 236-mile range is more closely aligned with the EQB’s.
4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty
The new vehicle warranty on a 2025 EQB is for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever happens first. This is typical coverage among luxury automakers. The 8-year/100,000-mile warranty for the battery is more impressive, but also federally mandated in the United States.
Safety
The EQB hasn’t been crash-tested by any third-party agency. Standard safety features in the EQB include Parktronic with Active Park Assist, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams. We recommend the Driving Assistance Package, which adds safety features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and more.

Although it received a <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/2024-mercedes-benz-eqb-gets-nip-and-tuck-job/">fairly extensive aesthetic refresh</a> and upgraded tech last year, the 2025 Mercedes-EQ EQB gets even more standard and optional equipment. New standard items include MBUX augmented reality, wireless device charging, an upgraded sound system, illuminated door sills, and more. New optional features include heated front seats, a surround-view system, an illuminated star emblem on the nose, and Active Distance Assist Distronic.
A new Exclusive Trim is available for 2025 EQB models, with the surround-view video system, heated front seats, Burmester audio, and more. Also new for 2025 is the Design Package, with a range of aesthetic tweaks in black, titanium gray, and rose gold for the interior and exterior.

The 2025 Maserati GranCabrio and all-electric GranCabrio Folgore are stylish, high-dollar, soft-top grand tourers.

Power, Ride and Handling

A twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 endows the GranCabrio with 542 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque &#8212; enough muscle to catapult this cabriolet from a standstill to 60 mph in a rapid 3.6 seconds. That’s a perfectly excessive amount of power and speed, competitive against the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 and not far off the Aston Martin Vantage V8 &#8212; the kind of exalted company the GranCabrio keeps.
All-wheel drive (AWD) is standard, enabling optimum grip in the dry and reassurance in the wet. A standard adaptive suspension has modes going from street-comfortable to track-worthy. Maserati says that more than 65% of the GranCabrio is made of aluminum, while the company also deploys other lightweight elements like magnesium to keep heft in check. At 4,317 pounds, this convertible is only about 220 pounds heavier than its coupe counterpart, with a well-balanced 51/49 weight distribution.
Generating an awesome 751 hp and brief bursts of 818 hp, the GranCabrio Folgore can dash to 60 mph in a mere 2.7 seconds. That&#8217;s comparable to the 4-door <a href="https://www.kbb.com/porsche/taycan/">Porsche Taycan</a> Turbo EV.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The Environmental Protection Agency (<a href="https://fueleconomy.gov/feg/make.shtml">EPA</a>) estimates the Maserati GranCabrio can achieve 20 mpg in combined city/highway driving. We doubt it will be a big consideration, but that does make it four mpg thriftier than the Mercedes-AMG SL 63.
<h3>Range and Charging</h3>
The GranCabrio Folgore is capable of 229 miles between charges. There’s no direct rival for comparison, although several <a href="https://www.kbb.com/electric-car/best-luxury-electric-cars/">luxury electric vehicles</a> can go beyond 300 miles. Using a DC fast charger, Maserati says the battery can go from 20% capacity to 80% in 18 minutes. If the starting-off point had been 10%, that would have put the Folgore level with most other top-notch EVs. Looking at it another way, the company says the car can take on 48 miles of range in five minutes.

Timeless Exterior

If the Maserati GranCabrio is any indication, it seems someone is making cars like they used to. There are no excursions into the avant-garde, no deliberately polarizing designs, just a timeless and (to our eyes) elegant shape &#8212; with the roof up or down. Buyers have plenty of scope to make the 2025 GranCabrio their own, with 32 paint choices and even five different finishes for the brake calipers.
Apart from a Folgore badge just above the three air vents on each front fender (those vents are a Maserati hallmark), there isn’t much to differentiate the electric variant from its gasoline stablemate.

Stainless steel pedals 
Yes, many sporty cars have stainless steel pedals. But these ones have rubber inserts for optimum grip, which will help the driver feel even more confident.
Head-up display 
And sure, plenty of cars offer the option of a head-up display. Yet that doesn’t stop us from liking them and finding them extremely useful because we don’t have to look away from the road ahead.
Smart screens 
In addition to the head-up display, the GranCabrio&#8217;s cabin has a 12.3-inch central display, a 12.2-inch digital gauge cluster, and a user-friendly Android Auto OS with smartphone integration. Maserati tradition meets modern technology.
Sonus Faber audio 
The gasoline-powered Trofeo trim offers the option of a 12-speaker audio upgrade from Italian maker Sonus Faber, while the electric Folgore has a 19-speaker setup available.
Comfort package 
This optional bundle brings ventilated front seats and a wind deflector. One issue, though, is that the deflector fits directly behind the front seats, relegating the rears to just being a space for extra luggage.
Maserati aura 
Most people think of Ferrari and Lamborghini when the conversation turns to exotic Italian cars. They’re wonderful, of course, but we also like the left-field/less-obvious aspect of Maserati. That trident badge in the grille has its own heritage, and we love the distinctly Italian styling overall.

Traditional/Contemporary Interior

All four seats are swathed in fine leather (a more sustainable Econyl upholstery is available). And although it doesn’t look like there’s a lot of rear legroom, those back seats seem just as well-shaped and supportive as the fronts. Maserati opted for a folding fabric roof to maximize interior space and cargo room instead of a retractable hardtop. It is power-operated, though, and a single button press will see it disappear into the body in about 14 seconds while traveling at speeds of up to 30 mph. The front seats also have neck-warming air vents, like the Mercedes-Benz Airscarf feature.
In addition to traditional luxury touches, the GranCabrio comes with a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, along with contemporary features like wireless phone integration. The infotainment system responds to voice commands, and a head-up display is available.

This car category could be a natural home for <a href="http://www.kbb.com/maserati/">Maserati</a> and its 2025 GranCabrio. Other manufacturers have the mid-engined supercar thing sewn up, while indulgent luxury is available from several European companies. The grand tourer class accommodates a mix of approaches that can include a 4-seater convertible.
Cabrio is short for cabriolet, a term often used for soft-tops with two rows of seating. This car is based on the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/maserati/granturismo/">GranTurismo coupe</a> (which we review separately). Both models are priced for exclusivity while offering fine materials, gorgeous looks (in our opinion), plentiful power, and an uncommon appeal.

We expect the 2025 Maserati GranCabrio to start at around $205,000. It’s available solely in Trofeo trim. The all-electric 2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore has a starting sticker price of $206,995.

At the time of compiling this review, there were no other electric soft-tops, high-luxury or otherwise. The 2025 GranCabrio Folgore is, therefore, in a class of one.
Aside from the GranCabrio Trofeo, buyers have a few more choices if gasoline is their preferred source of energy. The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is in a similar price bracket, even though we’re in that “money is no object” milieu. The Bentley Continental GTC is more like $300,000, and buyers could easily be swayed by the gorgeous Ferrari Roma Spider. If money is kind of an object, there&#8217;s the less pricey yet still wonderful <a href="https://www.kbb.com/mercedes-benz/mercedes-amg-sl/">Mercedes-AMG SL</a>.

The GranCabrio’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 develops a substantial 542 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, which are sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The GranCabrio Folgore employs three electric motors (two at the back, one up front) for a magnificent total of 751 hp (818 hp in boost mode) and 995 lb-ft of torque. Once again, all-wheel drive is standard.
<h3>4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
Maserati’s new-vehicle and powertrain warranties both last four years or 50,000 miles, whichever happens first. This guarantee is typical among European luxury car makers. The Folgore’s battery pack is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.
<h3>Safety</h3>
Standard safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. A more comprehensive package of driver assistance features &#8212; with tech like blind-spot monitoring, intersection assistance, and a 360-degree camera system &#8212; costs $6,800.

The all-electric 2025 GranCabrio Folgore makes its debut one year after the launch of the gasoline-powered GranCabrio. Maximum range is estimated at 229 miles. Folgore, by the way, is the Italian word for lightning.

Balanced and bullish, the 2025 Porsche 718 Spyder RS is a real enthusiast’s take on the excellent 718 Boxster 2-seater convertible.

Accelerating from a standstill to 60 mph in a fleeting 3.2 seconds is made possible by 493 horses stirred by a 4.0-liter flat-6 engine. There’s a special sound emanating from this kind of Porsche engine, amplified by a sport exhaust system that we find spine-tingling. Top track speed is 191 mph.
Porsche cars are also known for their thrilling dynamics. The 718 Spyder RS improves upon the usual Boxster setup by adding a sport-tuned adaptive suspension. The 718 Spyder RS also has a limited-slip differential and torque vectoring for efficient cornering. One thing we’ve noticed about all the Porsches we’ve driven is that they’re calibrated so finely &#8212; every input requires just the right amount of effort. Nothing is over-assisted, yet nothing feels too heavy.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
There’s a reason why a gas guzzler tax is applied to this car. Expect a 718 Spyder RS to achieve about 16 mpg in combined city/highway driving. Then again, a Chevy Corvette Z06 is thirstier by a couple of mpg.

Tweaked Exterior

Derived from the 718 Boxster (which, despite its advanced years, still looks great to us), the 718 Spyder RS differs in a few ways. It sits about an inch lower on its sporty suspension. Air vents are added to the hood and front fenders. And there are those little “flying buttress” features going from just behind the headrests to the tail, where we find the cute ducktail spoiler.
The fabric top is a slightly different shape, while this one is black with either red or gray stitching. Porsche also offers a paint-to-sample service with the 718 Spyder RS, but it starts at $14,750.
If we had a gripe, apart from the expensive options, it’s that this manually operated fabric roof is not quite as easy to use as its Boxster counterpart. The underlying idea is to keep weight in check, though, so we could live with it.

PDK 
These three letters represent a long German word with an unhealthy number of consonants. The underlying meaning is a double-clutch automated transmission that comes standard in the 718 Spyder RS. Despite this being an enthusiast’s car, it doesn’t offer a manual transmission. We don’t mind because we’ve always liked a PDK, noticing how it can shift gears faster than a human anyway.
Front axle lift system 
Not every road out in the real world can be race-track flat, so we recommend this option even if it does add some weight. Considering the 718 Spyder RS has a low ride height, we like the idea of saving the front lip from getting scraped.
Forged magnesium wheels 
For a mere $16,640, buyers can regain some of that lightness lost because of the axle lift system by choosing these 20-inch forged magnesium wheels. They save a total of 21 pounds over the standard forged aluminum items, have a staggered-width setup (8.5 inches up front, 11 inches at the back), wear ultra-high performance summer tires, and are finished in dark silver.
Carbon ceramic brakes 
Anyone planning on some hot track laps would be wise to choose this $8,000 option. They’re especially resistant to fading, warping, and wearing.
Porsche styling 
Porsche would be the first company to say that function is paramount, looks are secondary. But there’s still a certain visual flair to Porsche cars (and SUVs) that we find stirring &#8212; right down to the typeface used in model names and numbers.
Porsche Experience Center Delivery 
Available in Atlanta and Los Angeles, this option allows you to take delivery of your new 718 Spyder RS and includes high-performance driving instruction on a track, plus lunch. It costs $2,000.

Focused Interior

The cabin of the 718 Spyder RS has everything an enthusiast driver needs. Which, let’s face it, isn’t much. It’s along the lines of a great driving position, a satisfying feel to the steering wheel, and generally all the essential controls just being in their ideal locations. Incidentally, the bucket seats are fashioned from carbon fiber-reinforced plastic &#8212; making them strong yet light. Buyers can also have custom 3D-printed versions made for their particular shape. Plus a choice of seat belt colors.
The engine is mounted in the middle of the body, as opposed to up front or &#8212; in the case of the Porsche 911 &#8212; in the trunk. This leaves room for a smallish trunk area of 4.2 cubic feet. There’s also another 4.4 cubes of storage under the hood.

With an engine from a racing machine set into a small, nimble, well-balanced car, the 2025 718 Spyder RS is truly exceptional. It will absolutely shine on a track, yet it’s also civilized enough for less frenetic jaunts, thanks to an adaptive suspension. And it’s a convertible, which will please all those fresh-air fiends. We could make the argument that every <a href="https://www.kbb.com/porsche/">Porsche</a> is special, but some are more special than others &#8212; like the 718 Spyder RS.

There’s also a gas guzzler tax of $1,300 that has to be added on. The 718 Spyder RS isn’t cheap, even though it’s based on one of Porsche’s most affordable cars. But it could eventually reach collector status. Look after it and don’t rack up too many miles (a tall order, we know), and a 718 Spyder RS could actually go up in value.
For less money, the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/chevrolet/corvette/">Chevy Corvette</a> Z06 comes with 670 hp. Yet, we’d still understand why some buyers would prefer the Porsche. The 718 Spyder RS employs a 4.0-liter 6-cylinder engine in the classic Porsche flat-6 configuration. It develops a thumping 493 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque. The Jeep Wagoneer L is a full-size SUV with a huge 3-row interior, impressive towing muscle, and the off-road chops we expect from a Jeep.

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer L is powered by a 420-horsepower turbocharged 6-cylinder engine matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear- or 4-wheel drive. This engine proves that a full-size SUV doesn&#8217;t require a V8. Our testing found it has ample grunt for hauling a full load of passengers around town and on the highway. It can also tow up to 10,000 pounds, meaning it can handle a wide range of travel trailers, campers, boats, and other toys without breaking a sweat. This powertrain is ideal for a big SUV.
Given the Wagoneer L&#8217;s sheer mass, braking and handling are predictably ponderous. However, the available Quadra-Lift air suspension system (standard in the more expensive Grand Wagoneer L) smooths the ride. This SUV was born for eating up miles on the highway, and it&#8217;s comfortable when serving that duty regardless of the suspension.
We&#8217;d be remiss if we got through a <a href="https://www.kbb.com/jeep/">Jeep</a> review without mentioning its off-road chops. Three different 4-wheel-drive (4WD) systems are available in the Jeep Wagoneer L, but we&#8217;ll keep it simple. The Quadra-Trac I system is suitable for snowy roads and mild off-roading, and the Quadra-Trac II improves off-road capability with a 2-speed transfer case. Finally, Quadra-Drive II is Jeep&#8217;s most advanced 4-wheel-drive system with active low range and a rear electronic limited-slip differential. Quadra-Drive II, mated with the aforementioned Quadra-Lift air suspension system — which provides up to 10 inches of ground clearance — makes this big SUV a serious off-roader without sacrificing on-road comfort. However, its expanded size limits its maneuverability; the standard-wheelbase <a href="https://www.kbb.com/jeep/wagoneer/">Wagoneer</a> can better negotiate the trails.
<h2>Fuel Economy</h2>
The Jeep Wagoneer L gets 17 city/24 highway/20 combined mpg with rear-wheel drive (RWD). Subtract one from each of those numbers for the 4-wheel-drive models. Those are pretty good ratings for a full-size SUV, and the fact that it runs on regular-grade gas helps keep fuel costs reasonable.
For comparison, the Ford Expedition MAX gets up to 19 combined mpg, and the standard V8 in the Chevy Suburban and GMC Yukon XL gets 17 mpg. The bigger V8 in the General Motors SUVs gets 16 mpg and requires premium gas. For a more efficient full-size SUV, consider the turbodiesel-powered Suburban or Yukon XL, which gets up to 23 combined mpg.

Rugged Exterior

Jeep has done a nice job of taking an aesthetic that is uniquely Jeep and making it look refined without losing its rugged edge. Standard 20-inch wheels are a nice new touch this year. We&#8217;re partial to the blacked-out aesthetic of the Carbide trim, and the luxurious Series III trim looks lovely with its 22-inch wheels and tasteful use of chrome. All the while that seven-slat grille up front makes it unmistakably a Jeep.

10,000-pound towing capacity 
The Jeep Wagoneer L achieves the best towing capacity in its class, and it does it with only six inline cylinders. It&#8217;s so relaxed when towing that you might forget that the camper is behind you when on the highway.
4WD systems

Massive Interior

Up front, Jeep has managed to keep all the controls and switchgear remarkably tidy. Although there are three screens available (even the front passenger can have one), the overall feel is more warmly human than coolly technical. The rest of the cabin is quite luxurious. Leather seating surfaces are standard at the entry-level, with hide quality improving in higher trims.
But if you&#8217;re shopping for a full-size SUV with an extended wheelbase, you&#8217;re probably curious about the space behind the first row. The Wagoneer L boasts adult-friendly accommodations for the second- and third-row passengers, with a generous 36.6 inches of third-row legroom. The key difference between the interiors of the Wagoneer L and the standard-wheelbase Wagoneer is the cargo room. As the &#8220;L&#8221; implies, it&#8217;s the larger of the two.
The Wagoneer L has 42.1 cubic feet of room behind the third row (best-in-class), 85.3 cubic feet behind the second row, and 130.9 cubic feet behind the first row. Compared to the regular Wagoneer, that&#8217;s 53% more space behind the third row and 12% more room overall.
