After leasing or buying your new Tesla vehicle, it’s wise to seek repairs at a local Tesla service center. These facilities have up-to-date information on your Tesla, in addition to the latest service bulletins and recall notices.
In the case of a leased vehicle, many lease contracts, including those from Tesla Finance LLC, will require the use of original equipment parts when it comes to making the vehicle whole again.
Tesla utilizes advanced materials and electronics in the construction of your Tesla vehicle. It is for this reason we recommend taking your Tesla vehicle to a Tesla service center, or Tesla-approved body shop for any of your vehicle’s service or repair needs.
Training
The Tesla START program is an intensive training program designed to augment their automotive trade school learning. During this training, Tesla technical candidates develop skills, expertise and certification specific to the brand.
For established technicians, Tesla requires re-certification every two years to insure they are always up to date on the latest techniques to maintain and service your Tesla.
Loan Car Policy
Tesla will try to provide a Tesla loaner while your vehicle is being serviced. If there is a run on like loaner vehicles, it may be a fossil fuel-burning vehicle, instead. If your Tesla vehicle is in for collision repair, the extended use of a loaner or rental vehicle may be covered by an insurance policy rider. Read the fine print of your policy for more detail.
Collision Repairs
The Tesla-approved body shop program is comprised of two main body repair centers located in Pomona, California and San Jose, California. Additionally, there are satellite facilities available for light collision repair in the following cities:
These satellite facilities are equipped with the proper training, tools, equipment and facilities needed to repair Tesla vehicles that were involved in collisions.
