This is the sedan that became a classic because of the amazing construction and features that set the goal for all future mercedes to achieve. This is the last year that mercedes was truly the ultimate sedan and the one to aspire to one day own. Find one in excellent condition and you will not be dissapointed, you will be envied!

This is my 4th Mercedes Benz. The older models were definately better made. I have had my S for about 2 years. Comfort is outstanding as is styling. Performance is great and driving it is smooth. The electrical system and trim pieces are worse than a Yugo. It seems that MB has picked the lowest bidder for any plastic parts on the vehicle. The visor flip up turn on the light - well, it's supposed to. I've been through three passenger and two driver side visors. The storage compartment plastic desintigrated the second time it was used. Same for the cup holder. Wood trim cracks. I do not abuse my vehicles and do not even eat in it. It's just plain poor quality control. Service and warranty is good - it better be since it's in the service department as much as it is in my garage. I'll definately have to sell it before the warranty runs out.

Very clean 500 sel most of the miles are highway miles. Garage keep only three owners. Everything is original except chrome wheels on it.
92 400 SE in black, You ask how good was a 300 SE? This was my first Mercedes. It was the best car I ever owned, because without the quality and craftsmanship it would not have handled so well, the ride was perfectly balanced for me; it was a sports car sometimes and other times a luxury sedan. Now after my fifth Mercedes E class, I will soon be going back to purchase a 1992 or 1993 300 SE or my original 400 SE.
Yes, and watch the speedometer for tickets.
Drivers window, motor fails sometimes
Starting up the car is fabulous, like the first day. It sounds new. Kicks into gear on the highway like a bullet, always has. Keep up with synthetic oil changes, good relations with dealership mechanics for tuneups at least once a year, and you are always good to go.
