Positive Review
The Mazda3 5-door is a quality automobile that is stylish, performs well and is reasonably economical. The quality of ride is high for the size of the car. The drive-train and suspension are well tuned and give the driver great confidence. I really enjoy the auto-stick gate on the 5-speed automatic transmission. The 2.3L in-line 4 cylinder engine is free reving and propels the car briskly down the road. The sound system has a quality sound. The seat down storage in the 5-door is very ample. I am impressed with the fit and finish of the car. We get a lot of looks in this sub $20K auto. I could not give the car higher marks. We love it.
Critical Review
I've had my '06 about a year and overall like the car. The GOOD...the styling, it looks better than the other hatchbacks...Peppy engine, excellent handling, very good interior styling and function. The BAD...weak air conditioning and noisy ride. It needs better isolation from road noise.

Acceleration, gas mileage, style
Interior noise, CD player
This was my first car, I've had it for over 10 years now after buying it used in 2011. I absolutely love this little car, even after all these years I still think it looks cool, the gas mileage is fair, and it's pretty powerful. The acceleration has always been fantastic. My mom liked to call this car "zippy" since it could accelerate so well and is small enough to zip through traffic. The only issue I've had with the car that wasn't due to age and use is the original CD player (multi-disk), which are apparently notorious for not working properly and eating CDs. After one factory replacement, we eventually just replaced it entirely with a new stereo, which made the console clock, miles to empty, etc info on the little display stop working. Overall though I've still never driven a car that makes me feel cooler
I've had mine since 2009 and it's had very few problems. I have spent only minimal on repairs over the years. I want a new car but since it keeps going and going I will just drive it until something major happens.
never have anyone in the car, no pasnger space, although its orbably because i have some friends haha. fun time car
Great handling, reliable, sporty
None.
Only have to keep oil in it and change tires every couple years or so. It needed a new battery once. Fun to drive, handles great. No major mechanical defects. The exterior still looks like it's maybe 5 years old. Interior looks good too. Very reliable.

Sporty and economic at the same time, enjoyable to drive and cheap to maintain. I enjoyed driving it for long hours although I have family (wife and two kids).
