Positive Review
06 EX Coupe Pros *gas mileage: I range from low of 34 to high of 41 per tank. That is simply amazing for a non-hybrid, and that's on regular unleaded 87 octane fuel. The EPA on it was 32/38 (I think). *handling: This car hugs the road like no other. I test drove a scion tc, and that just didn't compare, in my opinion. The civic just feels like it's riding on rails when you're driving it - hard to explain. *reliability: Have had absolutely 0 problems in the 1.5 years I've owned it. *interior quality/ergonomics: the mileage and other indicators are situated in an unorthodox, but very "makes sense" location. You never have to take your eye off the road to see how fast you're going as peripheral vision is easily able to pick up speed, fuel, engine temp. Cons *Performance: Could be a little faster. Has trouble getting up hills unless you really hammer down on the gas and up the RMP's, but then again mpg would suffer in effect. *Interior comfort: There is excessive road and engine noise when at speeds of 50/55 or greater. This could be a defect with my specific build, but I've read similar complaints about interior cabin noise at other sources for the 06 Honda Civic. For taller drivers (I'm 6'1), the interior is also a bit cramped. All in all, great car. With the Civic, you also get Honda's proven value and reliability in their manufacturing. This car will hold its value. After 5 years of ownership (when the 60 mo loans are expected to be paid off and many will be shopping for a replacement), this care is expected to still be worth $10,000 for a trade-in. That's incredible considering I traded in my 98 saturn sc2 after 8 years ownership for a measley $1,500.
Critical Review
I've had my 06 Civic EX for almost 2 LONG years now! I've driven Honda's for many years! I'll give it credit for the great gas milage, no major mechanical issues, and the stylish new look! Being that I'm in Sales I'm on the road all day six days a week and it's a pretty comfortable. Noisy, but comfortable..just turn up the radio and Sing! The cons! I'm real dissapointed with my purchase! I'd sell it in a heartbeat or trade it in an instandt, except it's worth no where near what I owe. (and I got a great deal on it when I bought it...well at least it was at the time) The quality and the way the car has held up is terrible. The interior scratches and wears VERY EASILY! It looks like it's about 30 years old, the seats are worn, the dash and console are all scratched up, the floor mats with their cheap foam backing are shot! LOOKS WORSE THAN THE 96 I TRADED IN! and I'm very maticulous with keep my cars cleaned up! The Fog lights, I've replaced them 4Xs and finally just stopped. The glass on them breaks with the least little stone..and at $150 a piece to replace...you need to take out a second mortgage to keep up with them!! Tires....forget it! I'm on my third set at 74K. The last ones where good hight quality Michelins $800 a set ...shot at 40K. The local Honda service depart. states there is an "upper control arm" issue with the rear end on the Civics, but I have to pay to correct it and will most likely cause a change it its handling! What's up with that??? I've been driving 30 plus years now and never an accident until I bought this 06 Civic...Since then, 3...yes THREE! The blind spots are horrible....the traction in rain and snow...well forget it! You might just as well park it and take the bus! The list goes on and on...paint issues, AC issues, recalls... I wouldn't recommend it nor would I buy another! or a Honda for that matter! COME ON HONDA...WHERE IS THE QUALITY I'M USE TOO??????

Once I get it the way it supposed to be I know this car will last much longer
I wish I could have brought it from someone else.
I just purchased a used 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid for 1500 from a private seller. It wasn’t what we originally agreed upon but it’s a blessing ( glory to God). It is some fixing I have to do to it to in order for it to be able to run correctly. But it’ll get done one goal at a time.
My 2006 Honda Civic is an exceptional vehicle that perfectly balances reliability, style, and an enjoyable driving experience. Its smooth and responsive handling makes city driving and highway cruising a breeze, while the precise steering gives a strong sense of control. Powered by a lively 1.8-liter engine, it offers impressive acceleration and fuel efficiency, making every drive fun. The cabin is spacious and well-designed, featuring high-quality materials and a user-friendly layout, perfect for both daily commutes and weekend trips. Safety is also a priority with multiple airbags and anti-lock brakes, providing peace of mind on the road. Overall, the 2006 Honda Civic remains a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a compact car that excels in performance and comfort. It has lasted me 200000 miles and is running spectacular. I absolutely love this car and have nothing bad to say about it whatsoever!
Gas mileage, reliability, turn radius
not very big/on the smaller side
My honda civic is extremely reliable and has very few issues. However I don’t recommend it for tall people. I am 6’3 and have limited visibility because i have to sit so far back. my view isn’t that limited bit it also makes it hard to give rides to 3 or more other people because of the lack of space. This car still gets great gas mileage and is really reliable.
Buying a car and wanna see if what I'm paying is worth it it's a 08 Honda civic sedan with 285000 miles and I'm paying 1400 for it
I got my civic brand new in 2011. I've only had normal wear and tear issues with it. I've been able to drive it as a commuter car this entire time. And took me on some long road trips to see family over 400 to 600 miles each way over the years. It's lasted long enough that I can now hand it over to my kid when he gets his license with full confidence it will take care of him. The only downside I've had is some of the dash lights have gone out. It's a few lights here and there but overall I can still read the instruments so it's fine.
I bought this Honda as a used car. It fits me. i still get reat gas mileage and this car could possibly go another 10.000 miles or more. Itwas rear ended bua car that drove off but I took it to a guy who is repainting the bumper so I do not have it in my possesion at this time.
This 2009 Honda has been a great driver and commuter car. It spent a lot of time near the California coast near the ocean.Drives well but was hit in a parking lot on the back left bumper. Never found the person so it has been left as is. Still drives great nonetheless and have not had any issues with it.
A solid car with great fuel economy and comfort ! Easy to find a Part and fix when needed Fun to drive Quality !!
