Positive Review

"Superior Automobile"

This is THE perfect car. Ultra-reliable, great gas mileage. Comfortable, stylish, and fun to drive. The only time I've ever opened the hood is to change the oil. This car is great in every way possible.

Critical Review

"Trannies + batteries go at 150k miles"

Bought the car in 2010, when it was 7 years old. At 8 1/2 yrs it developed a delay in the start clutch. At 9 years the "Check Engine" light and the IMA battery light were on all the time, codes saying I needed a new battery. The battery shows it charging fine, but it seems it may go at any time, and they are in the range of $2,300. Now, in 2014, (11 years), the start clutch has started to shudder somewhat. Two mechanics have told me the transmissions on these hybrids go at around 150k miles, and this car has 155, so I am going to sell it for parts. Too bad. It was a very good car with few problems otherwise.

Incredibly reliable
Pros

Bulletproof Engine, Gas Mileage, Easy to Repair

Cons

Seats, Weather Sealing, Sound Insulation

This car is now 22 years old and still I have less issues than my friends who bought cars less than 6 years old. All you have to look after is rust, but it still holds much better than some of the newer accords. I've been to numerous trips across the mountains, drove it on race tracks, drove it in cold (-28C), drove it in heat (+40) - no problems. It could be faster, but its enough for a daily. I wasn't a big fan of the styling back in the day, but its grown on me. Eventually I fell in love with the car and now I'm doing a lot of bodywork to keep it mint. So here's the summary: Pros: Engine just doesnt quit Reasonably fun to drive Good gas mileage Easy to repair, no complicated electronics Rare to see, feels pretty cool to drive (in Europe at least) Cons: Seats are pretty rough Weak weather seals, not uncommon to leak Bad sound insulation

Slow and Reliable
Pros

Very clean and stylish interior

Cons

Paint jobs are always bad

Uh yeah it’s light and fun to drive around town but it’s just rather slow. I’ve had mine for sixth month and literally bought it for $1000 and I’ve had no issues.

Best car ever!
Pros

If you like to drive, this is a car for you.

Cons

Road noise.

I love this car. It has been dependable, reliable, nimble. I know where I am spatially, and can parallel park on a dime. It is adjustable: I can pull out in 1st gear, I can slow down in 4th gear, I can crawl in 2nd gear, and it is so controllable in adverse weather because of the gear actions.
