"Great Car"

I bought this car brand new when I was 16 and have just recently broke the 100,000 mile mark 7.5 years later. This car has been an outstanding blend of style, performance, and reliability. As far as value goes it has been outstanding as well. I have diligently performed my scheduled maintenance and have been rewarded with only one repair. At 94,000 miles I had to replace the valve cover gasket which had begun to dribble some oil. Other than replacing two plastic knobs in the interior, everything has maintained quite nicely. I have never had any issue starting it (I live in the cold of MN), or anything else. I do put on snow tires for 5 months of the year however, as without them this car is impossible to drive in the snow and ice-even just trying to accelerate from a stop up a slight incline to exit a gas station is a difficult task. The Blizzaks solve the problem however and make it feel like a totally different car. Performance wise it is quicker than a lot of cars you come across everyday but by no means is the quickest out there. Not being the fastest car out there is nicely reflected in the MPG however as I regularly reach 22-23 on mixed driving. Style wise it holds its own as well. I have added a sunroof, red/charcoal leather seats, dual exhaust, etc. to make it my own, and that is part of the fun of this car. Even being almost 8 years old now, I still get compliments on it to this day. Though it may not be the fastest, get the best MPG, have the most luxurious interior, it is one of the most well rounded cars I have seen for a very reasonable price and even after all these years I still have fun driving it every day.

"Good but not great"

I bought this car as my first car in August of 2013. I bought it with 118,000 miles on it and its almost at 129,000 miles. Its has made a very good first car, decent gas mileage, doesn't look too bad. I recently moved to Washington state and drove the thing all the way from St. Louis, Missouri without any issue. My only problem is that these 99 Mustangs are known for electrical issues and mine has succumb to these problems multiple times. If you are like me and like Mustangs or want a good looking, reliable vehicle, then this car will do, but just be warned that there could be some wiring issues in your near future.

Awesome ride

I got my mustang from a dealership and it was sitting in the back of the lot they wanted 5 grand for her but we talked them down to 2,800. She had a couple problems Nothing to serious well we had to replace the alternator and fix the break light where the previous owner had rigged it up so I had to go to the junk yard and buy thr break light switch accessories for 16 dollars. I paid my cousin to fix the problem but he rigged it it only lasted around a month but I did have to have it towed from the eyedoctors for 175 and this time I took the seat out and fixed it. So for less than 35 hundred dollars we got an awesome car she's smooth she has disk brakes all around and to be a v6 she's quick she came with 186000 miles

Love my pony
Pros

5 speed manual transmission 4.6 V8

Cons

Husband doesn't understand why I love it so much

Love my mustang gt so much I bought it back after trading in. I now have 297k miles. It's been awesome. I love the powerful sound, reaction time, no hesitation at accelerator (you know the newer cars hesitant feel), laser red ,5 speed manual makes for fun shifting Thur the "S" turns. I love this car so much it's my third Mustang I have owned '78 mustang II , 2000 model laser red, and 2002 Mustang GT. Unfortunately the oil pump went out the other day and seized the main bearing. Remember 297k miles. I want to rebuild the motor.
