1999 Ford F150 Super Cab Recalls
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID:
99V062
Vehicles Affected:
895,000
What You Should Do:
Dealers will replace the speed control cable. Owners will receive two notices: the first notice was to begin during March 1999; and the second notice will be made when parts are available (anticipated late April, early May). Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673
Summary:
The speed control cable can interfere with the speed control servo pulley and not allow the throttle to return to idle when disengaging the speed control. If the speed control is used and this condition is present, a stuck throttle could result, increasing the potential for a crash.
