Positive Review
The 640I is my third BMW and it has a ride as good as my 535I, with ample trunk storage for two golf clubs and overnight bag. Back seat can be used for adults for short trips but is best for kids. Maintenance has been easy with minor electronic problems;easy fixes. Soft top has been great and operates smoothly; only 40 seconds to open or close even while you are moving under 25 MPH. I have had the car 21 months and still love it. I highly recommend for the really picky car lover. It is a wonder to drive and turns heads.
Critical Review
You would think this would be an awesome car and it is from a looks standpoint but there are some issues. It's frequently in the shop for repairs but the worst part are the run flat tires. This car should be a fun to drive machine, but the hard sidewalls on the run flat tires take away from the maneuverability, cornering capabilities and they create a harsh ride even when the vehicle is in the "comfort" mode. Most BMW's no longer come with a spare or even a canister like the M class or an AMG would, so you are either stuck with sucking it up and going with the run flats or taking your chances. It should be noted that the BMW dealerships will not put on anything but a run flat, so if you want something else, you will need to find somewhere else that will do the work. One additional note, after buying a new set of run flat tires from the dealership, I had 3 flat tires in the 5 week period following installing the new tires.

Looks and performance
Back seat space, gas usage in town
Love my car, I think it is beautiful in Space Grey exterior and Ivory interior, I get a lot of compliments and people are always surprised it is 9 years old. I ditched the run-flat tires for a softer ride and better cornering. I take it to the dealer annually for an oil change and checkup. I've had to replace the rotors due to warping and the drive shaft due to ? After a radiator flush, I had a dealer tell me I had a radiator leak but had another check pressure check it and they found no sign of a problem so beware the dealer is not always correct. Uses premium gas, not good around the city but has better mileage on the road at 80 than a lot of cars 23ish.
Sporty, smooth, fast. Exhilarating acceleration.
Costly but manageable to maintain.
This 2017 BMW 650i Convertible is my dream car. The 4.4L V8 Twin Turbo is very impressive. Beautiful, fast, exhilarating. Smooth and comfortable for multi hour trips. The faster you go the smoother and more impressive it gets. The 'Best' driving experience every time. Truly a performance driving machine.
Fantastic car, no mechanical issues, black color still intact, electronics are intact, new tires, winter and all season
The best experience combines with Luxury and Sport
high mpg
It is an amazing sports car built by BMW, the most Luxury interior as the 7 Serious, the most powerful engine with V8 4.4 Twin-turbo comes with 480hp and 720Nm Torque. BMW xDrive is an all-wheel-drive that gives you extra push on the house power, and no worries that will get slippery. 20 powerful seat adjustments, and comes with 2 seat memories. Entire interior covers with luxury leather. It is a totally stock car without any tune. Large rear trunk space for two checked luggage and one or two boarding cases at the same time. Super cool outlook with Black exterior and red interior. It comforts enough to go on a road trip with a big trunk and also has enough horsepower and torque to go on a race with friends. Even though it comes with a V8 engine still feel chill and silent when you sit inside the vehicle. Overall you can switch on the SPORT+ mode to turn this machine into a monster, and you can switch into COMFORT+ mode to turn this machine into a luxury sedan.
Various driving modes, safety features, comfort
long front end, low to ground, limited backseat
Got this car at an absolute great deal. This is the absolute finest car that I've ever owned. It's very stylish and comfortable; luxury at it's finest. Extremely fun to drive!! It has a v8 engine with several driving modes from economy, comfort, and sport. I put it in sport mode and hit 120 mph on the highway, but had to slow down because my heart started racing with too much with excitement. Every feature is amazing and designed for comfort, convenience and safety. It's a very quiet and smooth ride. The i-drive features are amazing. I love the fact that it has animated video displaying the car's features. You can even play DVD's on the i-drive display, but only while in park mode. The features in this car are designed to give you the best and safest driving experience from headlights that adjust to the road/driving conditions, lane change warning, blind spot alert, a tailgating alert, and more. The window display that posts the road's speed limit and your driving speed is helpful. The navigation system is awesome. In the menu, you can even read your phone's text messages and there's a feature (you must sign up for it) that lets you respond with talk to text to respond to your text messages. There are some cool hidden features as well. My only (minor) issues are: the sunroof does not have a tilt position; it's low to the ground so getting in and out of the car can be a challenge; the front end is low and long so you'll need to watch it when parking over curb stops and curbs. It has a start/stop engine function to save on fuel (can be turned on or off). I could go on and on because there's so much to love about this car, but I digress. BMW has thought of everything and that's what makes their cars so exceptional and fun to drive!
Handling, preformance modes, styling.
back seat space
Car has multiple performance option, plenty of power and superb handling which has gotten me out of dangerous situations on the interstate. The lines are smooth and fluid. looks like it is going fast just standing still. It has plenty of storage space in the boot. lane departure, blind spot alert and traction control all aid the driving experience.
Great-sounding engine, acceleration, interior
Long doors, back seat, cost, steering
I have the 650i xDrive, Mojave paint with an off-white interior, fully loaded with an original MSRP of $104k. The V8 engine in the car is remarkable, with 440 hp and seemingly-unlimited torque. The ride is firm but very comfortable, with a quiet interior. These attributes make this car very quick in acceleration (while sounding great!) and a delight for cruising at Autobahn speeds. With all-season tires, it drives well in rain and snow. The steering feel is numb, as in many recent BMWs. Build quality is excellent. The seats are heated/ventilated front and rear, firm and fully adjustable, including lumbar support. The back seats are difficult to access and have so little leg room that they are only good for small children or masochists. If you accept that it's a two seat personal luxury cruiser you will not be disappointed. These cars -- and all BMWs for that matter -- depreciate quickly so one can buy a well-equipped used luxury car for a fraction of it's original price.
POWER!
Car is very low to the ground for DD
Purchased CPO 2016 Alpina BC with 26,000 mi, August of 2019. Impressive handling, power, comfort. Wanted something to compliment 2008 targa 4s that could transport the family. trunk space is good about 17 cubic feet. It is expensive to maintain but that is expected. it has the N63TU engine - so far so good.
