Positive Review
This was my first car. When I was learning to drive in it I jumped a ditch, took out a bush, and almost took a tree out...and it still drove like a champ on the way to get it looked at. I didn't even know anything was wrong with it, took it somewhere just to be sure. So fun to drive with the top down on a nice day, people are always checkin' the car out:)
Critical Review
This is a luxury car. It is an engine performance car. It is a handling champion. It is a highly attractive gem by those who care well for it. It is a car yet in high demand for parts and ownership by auto enthusiasts. 3 Series is still a religion today! Car shows and 3 Series only model festivals and races exists all over the world! It is a car who's value increases ONLY! if it is kept in good condition. It is a car that can be more of a personal and emotional fettish rather than economic or rational sense! Its power allures you! its body detains you! its prestige is not vain, its real! Its gut beckons you to step on it and give it a thrashing!--- On the freeway! On the corners! On the blink of the green light! On the squealing the tires with the brakes! It truly is designed to consume you as a driving machine. Don't get this car if you are an uncontrolled passionate like me. It will ruin you. Or it will be the best car you've ever had. Its like a princess. Are you looking for a daring Princess? If you are in college, dont get her, she is selfish and does not like your books. She wants your hands on the wheel. Your pocket may suffer. But she will be yours! the choice is yours! Hot red, black and gold OEM 1989 325I AT 7years. Broke and yet lustful owner

Runs
Rough run, will need to get towed away
The car is in OK shape the body ia roighed up and the motor will definitely need to have some work done
Fun to drive and is nimble in traffic
No center console storage
I am the original owner; I bought this vehicle in June 1992. I have replaced the top, the stereo (to USB and CD, but still have the original radio). The A/C compressor and condenser has been replaced. I installed fog lights and a chrome tip for the exhaust. Top down or top up, it is truly a pleasure to drive. The thing about these cars is when something goes wrong, you must attend to it immediately. This car handles beautifully, and I have been chased down for offers to sell. It is now 25 years old, and for what I could for what I could sell it for, whatever replaced it would not come close to its driving value.
Handling, aesthetics, great look
None
Iv'e owned this car for 7 years now now and it has never given me any trouble. The car handles flawlessly, looks amazing, and has been extremely reliable.
Value, handling, dependability,easy to maintain
Annoying electrical issues, no cup holders
Love my BMW. Little electronic things are annoying and the headliner is falling after 20yrs. None of this takes away from the dependability and driving experience. I have 190,000 miles and it is smoother and more stable than most cars 1/4 her age. Did the brakes, struts, shocks, relay switch and a tune-up 5yrs ago for $650, and 50k miles later she's a gem. Has a timeless style that looks like a much newer vehicle. Love the Manual mode for when you want to see what she's made of on the twisties. Had a rear tire blow out on 405 freeway going 75mph. She shook a little and got me to the off ramp safely. I hardly knew it happened. Did not affect maneuverability. Even the stock rim was ok. A good independent mechanic and a Haynes manual will get you far. A winner all the way around!
Great balance of eco and performance, fun to drive
Light on the Low-end torque, no cup holders
It's a fun car to drive, can be fast when you need it to, and can get around 30 MPG highway. Good control of steering, although the tires are slightly undersized for my liking. But still a good car!
Reliability, low cost of ownership
Too much plastic on the interior
I bought this car just out of college and still have it nearly 20 years later. The 210,000 miles speaks for itself. It is an easy car to maintain -- synthetic oil every 5,000 miles for me. The only things I have run into that were major hassles to service were the driver's door electric window regulator, the sunroof cassette and the fuel filter. Everything else can be done by an average home mechanic.
Got it from family member after they had it for only about 2 years. It never had any problems with me or my mother (who upgraded to a newer bmw that has had some problems, but still nice) The only thing ever needed on it was a $700 repair for the clutch bearing which is pretty natural for a car with 200000 miles. I love it though, like the other reviews they are all true it just handles amazingly and is just a racecar basically. This is a true classic and pretty uncommon I plan on keeping it for many years and rebuilding the engine whenever necessary. Still in good condition but needs some restoration on the paint mainly! If you have a chance to get this car or own it we are pretty lucky because its a masterpiece.
what a car should be
a car is not a dinner table dont eat in it
Own this car before you die and drive it until you do.
